CEBU, Philippines - Playing computer games and surfing the social networking sites are now banned at the Mandaue City hall.
Early this week, Mayor Jonas Cortes ordered regular and job order employees at the city hall to refrain from using their personal gadgets and issued-computer in playing computer games and surfing in social networking sites.
The memorandum came following the publication of a picture of two government employees playing computer games at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Jamaal James Calipayan, Cortes’s executive secretary, said administrative charges of misconduct and negligence will be filed against regular employees who are caught violating the memo, which will be tantamount to suspension or reprimand.
The administrative charges are based on Civil Service Code of Ethics for Employees and Officials.
On the other hand, erring job order employees could lose their work. (FREEMAN)
