One hacked, another shot in Lapu-Lapu

CEBU, Philippines - A construction worker in purok Thunder, sitio Timpolok barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City was shot and wounded on the abdomen Saturday evening by another man for no apparent reason.

Roberto Villamor Ymbong, 40, was taken to the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital but transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

His alleged assailant, one Carlos Lumongsod Tampus, alias “Molog,” 40, single, of the same place, fled after the commission of the crime.

In another development in the same city, one Mark Anthony Valliente Tito, 21, single, and a resident of Purok Progress barangay Gun-ob was hacked by one Paulo Tumulak, 40, single, of the same place.

Homicide said Tito and Tumulak were drinking before the alleged crime was committed.

Tito went home when he allegedly became tipsy, Homicide said.

Upon arriving home, Tito and his live-in partner quarreled, and to prevent the argument from getting out of control, he went out for a walk, Homicide said.

As Tito was walking, he met Tumulak, and without any provocation, Tumulak hacked Tito and then fled.

Police couldn’t find Tumulak.

Tito was taken to hospital.

Homicide said Tampus and Tumulak will be charged with frustrated murder. (FREEMAN)
