CEBU, Philippines - A man who got stabbed Tuesday morning while robbing a cellular phone shop in barangay Tabok, Mandaue City slipped into a hospital to have his wound treated.
But the Mandaue City Hospital staff alerted the police.
Arrested was Ramil Mabalhin, 20, single, of Hermag Village in barangay Tabok.
Stolen from DKA Cellshop in barangay Tabok were an iphone 4S, a Nokia X3, a Nokia1202, and a visa card.
Mabalhin entered the shop, rolled down the roll-up door, and announced a hold-up.
He threatened to harm shop owner Anida Abella and technician Erge Millor with a knife as he picked up phones.
Millor went for the knife and, in a scuffle, wounded Mabalhin near the left ear.
Mabalhin fled, taking with him the phones.
Anida and Millor went to the police.
Basak police station chief P Sr./Insp Wilson Abot said he immediately called all the hospitals in the city.
The police failed to recover the phones.
Mabalhin said he had thrown them away.
But the police think Mabalhin is lying.
They believe he had cohorts when he pulled the robbery.
Mabalhin is now detained at the Basak police station. (FREEMAN)
