CEBU, Philippines - A farm hand is in serious condition after getting shot Monday by his cock-breeder employer in sitio Holy Name in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
Aldrin Villaflores, 16, who works for Sierra Farms was shot in his right leg by employer Victorio Sierra.
Police said Sierra, who breeds fighting cocks, allegedly got mad at the boy for failing to remember to put water in the incubator.
After getting shot, the boy fled the farm.
Subangdaku police station chief P Sr./Insp Frank Oriol said bystanders took Villaflores to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
Before losing consciousness, the boy had told policemen Sierra shot him.
When Sierra couldn’t be found at the farm, the SWAT, the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), and the Subangdaku police looked everywhere.
After two hours on the prowl, the police found Sierra at the Mandaue City Hospital where he sought treatment for a wound on a finger and difficulty in breathing.
He was later transferred to Sacred Heart Hospital in Cebu City and later turned over to the Homicide Section of the CCPO for the filing of charges.
The boy remains confined at the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center. — (FREEMAN)
