All set for maiden Shine Cebu 4th District Basketball Cup

CEBU, Philippines — Everything is already in place for the inaugural Shine Cebu 4th District U30 Basketball Cup set to kick off next month.

There are two scheduled opening ceremonies in this inter-town league for 30-year-old cagers and below - December 6 for the island division in Bantayan Island and December 7 for the mainland category at the Don Celestino Martinez Memorial Sports Complex in Bogo City.

Madridejos, Bantayan, and Santa Fe make up the island bracket. They will play a double round robin in the elimination, with the top two slugging it out for the title.

The contenders in the mainland group are Daanbantayan, Bogo City, San Remigio, Tabuelan, Medellin, and Tabogon.

They will compete under a single round robin format.The top four qualifiers will proceed to the crossover semifinals, with the winners facing off each other for the championship.

The island and mainland winners will then clash for the overall crown.

The top three finishers in both the island and mainland categories will take home P50,000, P30,000, and P20,000, respectively. There will be an additional P50,000 for the overall champion and P30,000 for the first runner-up.

Fully supported by Daanbantayan Mayor Sun Shimura, all games will be under the supervision of tournament commissioner Marc Malazarte assisted by deputy commissioner Serg Alburo.
