CEBU, Philippines — Metro Cars maintained its perfect start with a 96-74 rout of the Flago Prayboys in the Mandaue’s Pride Basketball Association (MPBA) Commissioner’s Cup Season 3 over the weekend at the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) gym.
Jeofrey Deligerio topscored with 12 points while Dwight Godinez added 11 points, three rebounds, five assists, and one steal as Metro Cars firmed up its grip of the solo lead in the Premier Division with an immaculate 4-0 slate.
Three others cracked double figures for Metro Cars. Philip Larayos and Sanel Cabalda each scored 11, while Hersley Fuentes tallied 10 markers.
Kenny Genobia netted 15 points but to no avail as the Prayboys dropped to 2-2.
On the other hand, James Balili sizzled with 19 points, five rebounds, six assists, and six steals as Void edged Welec, 81-74, to improve its record to 3-1.
Mark Monte fired 24 points but his efforts went down the drain as Welec suffered its second loss in three games.
In the Elite Division, Oliver de la Cruz scattered 22 points, two rebounds, one assist, and five steals as the Steadfast Builders evened its card at 2-2 with an 82-70 drubbing of Purexfit Cebu.
Acer Go dished out 20 points but couldn’t prevent Purexfit Cebu from crashing to its third consecutive defeat. — (FREEMAN)
