CEBU, Philippines — Decorated Cebuano go-kart racer William John Riley Go dished out a grandslam feat in the mini-ROk class of the 2019 Asian Karting Open Championships at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga over the weekend.

Just a week since he dominated the IAME Series Asia 2019 on foreign shores, the 11-year-old Go dominated another international event.

Go opened his AKOC bid with a champion’s trophy at the Red 1 Karting Circuit in Beijing, China last April. He duplicated his winning form at the Kartrodomo de Coloane, Macau last June.

Go grew even fiercer in round 3 staged in his homeland, dominating all heats up to the pre-finals and the final race.

The Grade 6 student of St. Benedict Childhood Education Center, however, was happier to see other young Cebuano karters trying their best to come up with a respectable finish in their respective categories.

Jesse Garcia and Euan Seno came out fourth and seventh, respectively, in the cadet Formula  Honda, while Paolo Ayo landed fifth in the IAME X30 senior division.

Go now trains his sights on sweeping all five legs of the AKOC series.

Round 4 is slated on November 9-10 at the RKK Speedkart Circuit in Changmai, Thailand while the fifth and final round is set for December 7-8 at the Kartodomo de Coloane in Macau. (FREEMAN)
