CEBU, Philippines — National team downhiller Jerich Farr of Team Prima Trek lived up to expectations after winning the open elite title during the opening leg of the Dartmoor Gravity Enduro Race National Series over the weekend in Bitlang, Barangay Sudlon, Cebu City.
Farr trailed in the first two stages but saved his best for last, posting the best time of four minutes and 50.07 seconds in Stage 3.
Overall, Farr registered the fastest time of 18 minutes and 50.75 seconds to snatch the coveted crown.
Eleazar Barba, also a Phl downhiller, placed second with an 18:59.91 clocking followed by Outbreak rider Gabriel Amigo III with a time of 19:12.47.
It was a double celebration for Farr as his dad Eboy ruled the 40-49 division with a time of 21:39.41.
In the women’s open category, Lea Denise Belgira grabbed the champion’s trophy with a time of 26:24.28, way ahead of his closest pursuer Marinella Puno who timed 30:53.28. Dartmoor’s factory rider Naomi Gardoce settled for third in 42:55.99.
The other top performers were Marco Nino Gonzales of TCS/Outbreak/Bamjopals (19-below), Batchub Semblante of Trailbangers/Dartmoor (20-29), Rommerl Bongcayao of CRAC/Rubok/OAW (30-39), Fulvio Narciso of V12 Radgear (50-above), and Panfilo Sulad of SMC (special hardtail).
After Cebu, action shifts to Zamboanga City for the second leg on February 17. (FREEMAN)
