CEBU, Philippines — Joland Olmilla and Lucille Ruiz dominated their respective divisions in the 2018 Ethos Duathlon yesterday in Barangay Pulagbato, Cebu City.
Olmilla used his endurance and extreme focus to finished first in the 10K run, 40K bike and 5K run duathlon race. He registered the fastest time in the men’s open with 3:11:37 followed by Rolly Cabaluna with a time of 3:11:80.
Jhepoy Juson settled for third place with 3:14:16, clocking.
In the women’s action, Ruiz outpaced her daughter Pamella to snare the crown.
Lucille registered the fastest time of 2:39:22, while her daughter has a time of 2:40:14. Mary Clare Marangay wound up third in 4:00:08.
Meanwhile, Xterra pro Joseph Miller topped the 30-39 class with 4:11:03 clocking.
Other winners in the age-groups were Keith Defiebre in the 50-above class with a time of 4:01:45. Edil Batiancila topped the 40-49 action with a time of 3:42:59, while Jessidel Arnado reigned supreme in the 20-29 class with a time of 3:19:08.
James Te, for his part, came out the fastest in the 19-below class with 3:42:19, clocking. (FREEMAN)
