CEBU, Philippines — Newly-formed Don Sacredel-Queen City United posted its second straight victory at the expense of Crazy Horse, 4-2, in men’s open division of the 2018 Aboitiz Cup yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center.
With the win, Don Sacredel-QCU, which is composed of players from Don Bosco Technology College, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu and Paref Springdale, claimed the solo lead.
Karlo Villamor logged the first goal in the 7th mark before Lawrence Colina equalized it for Crazy Horse. Venson Nery then gave Don Sacredel-QCU the lead with a goal before the end of the first half.
Villamor scored anew with Colina also adding another one for Crazy Horse on the 59th.
Knowing how the Crazy Horse works, Don Sacredel stepped up its game as Nicholas Villacin sank a game-winning goal in the 68th.
In the other men’s open action, Southwestern University decimated Real Galaxy, 12-0, while in the men’s 38 bracket, QCU and Rising Sun fought into a 2-all draw.
ERCO FC, for its part, broke into the winners’ column with a 6-3 triumph over Cebu North United. SHS-AdC also took the solo lead in the girls’18 after beating St.Theresa’s College, 5-0.
The Accenture girls finally found its rhythm and got its first win in three games at the expense of Convergys, 3-0 in the BPO-Ladies division while its men’s squad suffered its first loss at the hands of ePerformax, 1-2. (FREEMAN)
