CEBU, Philippines - The Boys High Alumni booters put their acts together as they pulled off a 2-1 cliffhanger in the penalty shootout over Queen City United to snare the men’s 38-above title of the 14th Thirsty Football Cup at the Cebu City Sports Center yesterday.
Both squads were scoreless at the end of the regulation resulting into a shootout. Raymond Cordova was hailed as the Most Valuable Player.
In the mixed under-9 bracket, Don Bosco Technology Center’s Team A claimed the title after silencing its Team D, 1-0.
Ilo-ilo City’s Tomasak FC reigned supreme in the mixed under-11 after upending San Carlos City, 1-0.
Giuseppe FC, for its part, claimed the girls 15 crown after registering 10 points in the league-type format. Santa Barbara Football Elite settled for the runner-up trophy with its six points.
ERCO BRO FC topped the inaugural mixed open division with its 13 points, followed by Don Bosco Alumni and San Roque Football Club. (FREEMAN)
