CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano flyweight prospect Junrel Jimenez of Chao Sy Stable bounced back from a previous loss in style, making short work of veteran brawler JR Salvador of Mandaue City during the Medellin Boxing 2016 late Friday night at the Medellin Sports Complex north of Cebu.
The 20-year-old Jimenez easily punched his way to a second round stoppage of Salvador in an impressive win that somehow erased the sting of his disappointing loss by retirement to Cebu-based Leyteno Salatiel Amit during the 'Uptown Rumble' last June 11 at One Mango parking lot.
Jimenez now holds a 6-1 record spiked with 3KOs but more importantly he's now back on the right track.
In the other results, Clyde Azarcon won by unanimous decision over MarloTalili; Ian Refuela stopped Belmar Plaza in round three; Cris Cana needed only one round to dispose off Roga Libres; and Marjun Pantilgan pulled off a 2nd round TKO of Rowel Garcia.
Presented by Cebuano sportsman Lorenzo 'Chao' Sy and Big Yellow Stable in partnership with the Medellin Municipal Sports Development Commission headed by Councilor Alfonso Lim, the slambang show was made extra special by the presence of Philippine Sports Commissioner Ramon 'El Presidente" Fernandez.
