‘Forwarder’s Run' set October 4

CEBU, Philippines -  Seeing running as a good way to raise funds for their employees who are in need, the Cebu Reliance Seafreight Forwarder Inc. is organizing its first ‘Forwarder’s Run’ slated October 4 at the Cebu Business Park grounds.

The race, which features the 3K, 6K and 12K categories, is a fund-raising event for the benefit of Mary Anne Tigbao, one of their employees who needs money for her operation after being a victim of a tragic road accident last June.

“We have been planning this running event before to promote healthy lifestyle, but right now we also see it as a good source of funds for Mary Anne who will undergo an operation this year,” said CREST Forwarder Inc. Board of  Director Chairman John Boy Tibay.

Close to 1,000 runners are expected to participate in the race including Mary Anne’s co-workers. The race is also open to professional runners including foreign competitors.

Cash prizes and medals will be given away to the top performers in each category. As an added perks, all the participants will have a chance to win exciting prizes from corporate sponsors during the raffle draw.

Registration fee is pegged at P300 for 3K, P350 for 6K and P450 for 12K inclusive of dri-fit shirt, race bib and post race refreshments. Entry forms are available at CREST Forward Inc. office in Brgy.Mabolo, RUNNR in Ayala Center Cebu and Cebu City Sports Center.
