CEBU, Philippines - Dynamic Power blasted Caltex Delo, 55-34, for its third straight win in the 20th Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Cup last Wednesday at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu old campus gym along General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City.
Roderick Mangubat finished with 14 points, while Theogene Lim and Chad Go chipped in 12 and 10 markers, respectively, for Dynamic Power, which kept Caltex Delo at bay after racing to a 25-12 lead at halftime.
No Caltex player nailed twin digits as it suffered its second loss in three starts.
In the other Division B games, defending champion RDAK Transporters used a sizzling 26-13 rally in the final half to slam AutoLab, 52-39, while Filmon Finishing Studio barged into the win column after escaping past Whitegold Club, 51-49.
John Paul Cabrera and Rhett Tomakin connived for 25 points for the Transporters, who now holds a 3 win-1 loss record. AutoLab dropped to 2-2.
On the other hand, Rodrick Garcia had 13 points and Erickson Arienza added 11 markers as Filmon Finishing Studio checked its two-game slide. Romeo Alejandro posted a season-high 25 points but his efforts went for naught as Whitegold slumped to its third loss in a row.
In Division A, Gaisano Capital pulled off a 50-49 cliffhanger over the Cebu Landmasters, while the RDAK Stallions galloped past Filmon Prince Medallion, 63-53.
Arc Araw-araw and Alfonso Doyon each scored 11 as Gaisano Capital notched its second win in three games, while Cebu Landmasters, led by Borgy de la Cruz with 12 points, dropped to 1-2.
Fletcher Galvez netted 15 points, while Jair Igna and Lucky Ecarma had 22 points combined as RDAK improved to 3-1. Jonathan Cimafranca exploded with 25 points but his singular offensive outburst was to no avail as Filmon Prince Medallion crashed to 1-2. (FREEMAN)
