CEBU, Philippines – Close to a hunded cue artists from all over the country led by former world champion Ronnie 'The Volcano' Alcano will vie for top honors in the Cebu City Mayor's Cup Sinulog Open 10-Ball Tournament set on January 13-17 starting at Jancor Billiards Hall along V. Gullas Street, this city.
Jancor owner Allan Cortes said the five-day tilt offers a total of P150,000 in cash prize to the top performers, with the champion getting P70,000. The second place will take home P30,000, while the losing semifinalists will pocket P10,000 each. Those who will make it to the top 12 will receive P2,500 each.
Registration fee is pegged at P1,000 inclusive of a souvenir shirt, which they have to wear during the competition.
Aside from Alcano, the other early registrants include Elvis Cahasan, Napoleon Labregu and Ruben Cun, from Tagum, Ronel Geron and Asis Radque from Laguna, Arnel Bautista alias Dodong Barobo from Surigao del Sur, Rowen Aying and Jumel Sultan from Iloilo, Lauro Bugay of Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte, Dante Razalan of Quezon province, Richard "Bong" Alinsug and Eljun "Laga" Abellana of Cebu City. (FREEMAN)
