CEBU, Philippines – Decorated Cebuano rider Jon Eleazar “Jon-Jon” Adlawan got the coveted ‘Rider of the Year’ award after dominating the pro open category in this year’s edition of the Man and Machine Supercross Series that wrapped up its season over the weekend in Lipata, Minglanilla.
Adlawan who won the previous legs of this six-leg nationwide motocross series, bested rivals Rhowell ‘Bornok’ Mangosong of Mindanao and fellow Cebuano Jubenille Abellar.
However, Adlawan was outmaneuvered during the final leg by guest rider from Hungary Deczi Blaz. Philippines’ No.1 Glenn Aguilar who also took part of the action in the final leg was third.
Aside from the pro open, Adlawan was also the best rider in the pro lite class, while Jacob Orbe nabbed the intermediate class trophy.
Denmar Supatan lorded it over at the novice, Risty Dela Calzada got the beginners as legendary Cebuano rider Pepo Rubi won the veterans A category.
James Doroy and Roscel Gungob copped the veterans B and C, respectively, BJ Pepito scored a double title in the mini and peewee 65, Shaun Peralta won the peewee 50, Clinto Gualiza prevailed in the local enduro, Donkey Sanchez dominated the open enduro,and Israel Larido snatched the underbone class.
