CAV-Tejero to stage first men's volleyball tourney

CEBU, Philippines – The Christian Athletic Volunteers-Tejero will kick off its first Men’s Invitational Volleyball Tournament on November 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Tejero Sports Complex.

The competing teams are the Carreta Angels, Kasambagan Gilas, Android from T. Padilla, the Hawks, DJD-Engineering, Redline, the Young Friends of Jesus-OMG, E-Lights (composed of players from Guadalupe, Kalunasan, Capitol Site and Kamputhaw), and Bob Hughes Christian Academy.

Games will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

A special production number from the University of the Visayas cheerdance squad will spice up the opening ceremony that will be graced by CEVA (Cebu Volleyball Association) president Andrew G. Choachuy and Kasambagan Barangay Councilor Franklyn Ong, former national president of the Barangay Councilors League of the Philippines.

CAV is a community a based-group of The Risen Saviour Bible Baptist Church-Tejero for the benefit of ordinary individuals and teams who are sports enthusiasts.

It aims to provide budding athletes an avenue to further hone their athletics skills towards excellence, teach them the importance of sportsmanship, and foster fellowship amongst them. (FREEMAN)
