Convergys 2 hits perfect 10 in CSCC E-League

CEBU, Philippines – The vaunted triumvirate of Clifford Amarado, Sherwin Resilla, and Lourenz Limpangog once again put their acts together to power the Convergys 2 Blue Devils to a 57-50 win over the Author Solutions, Inc. Hardbacks in the continuing action of the 10th CSCC E-League men's basketball tournament last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gy,.

Amarado charted 12 points on top of four assists and three steals, Resilla added 11 points, six rebounds and two assists, while Limpangog had 10 points and three rebounds as Convergys 2 extended their spectacular streak to 10 games in a row. The Blue Devils actually had a lukewarm start, but went unstoppable after they found their offensive bearing starting in the third quarter.

Martin Ian de Guzman was the lone double-digit scorer with 14 points, three rebounds, two assists and as many steals for ASI, which dropped to 5-5.

On the other hand, the Kyocera Frontiers drew stellar performances from Winston Stephen Panal and Eduardo Tuico, Jr. in their 101-29 massacre of the hapless Microsourcing Bullies.

Panal scattered 26 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks, while Tuico pumped in 24 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals for Kyocera, which improved its win-loss record to 5-4 while dealing Microsourcing its ninth loss against a solitary win. The outcome of the match was already a foregone conclusion after Kyocera mounted an unassailable 52-6 lead at halftime.

In other games, the Wipro Tigers roared off to a 66-57 triumph over the Xerox Knights, while the 1&1 Marauders blasted the Job Target Bandits, 61-39.

Pol Klinton Alfeche finished with 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals for Wipro, which banked on a solid final-half show to turn back Xerox and better their win-loss record to 7-3 in a tie with the SSI Warriors at third place in Division 2 standings.  Xerox, led by Jason Rosafa with 15 points, four rebounds and as many assists, fell to 4-6.

Jude Lorenz Camposo unloaded 14 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists, while Argiel Fernandez had a double-double show of 11 points and 13 rebounds laced with four assists, two steals and two blocks in an all-around show that helped 1&1 notch its fifth win in nine starts.
