E-League draws four new teams

CEBU, Philippines - Four new teams will plunge into highly-competitive hardcourt action as the 10th season of the CCSC E-League men's basketball tournament kicks off this Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

These are the 24/7 Cagers, Xerox Knights, Microsourcing Bullies and GGS Information Services Griffins.

24/7 is grouped in Division 1 together with defending champion Aegis Viper and the comebacking Supportsave Dragons.

They will play alongside the Teleperformance Kings, Convergys 1 Wolves, Job Target Bandits (formerly Talleco), Accenture Sharks, Lexmark Stallions, Telstra Boomerangs, Calltek Trojans, and 1 & 1 Marauders.

Xerox, Microsourcing and GGS are bundled in Division 2 along with the Author Solutions, Inc. Hardbacks, SSI Warriors, Eperformax Reds, Convergys 2 Blue Devils (formerly Stream), Sykes Pioneers, Teletech Titans, Wipro Tigers and Kyocera Frontiers.

Event organizer Rey Fuentes said this year's total number of competing squads year is a league record.

They will play in a single round robin format in the elemination. The top seven will proceed to the playoffs, while the eighth and final playoff spot will be determined by wildcard lottery.

The top four seeds in each division will enjoy twice-to-beat incentives. The divison semis and finals as well as the regular season championship are a best-of-three series. (FREEMAN)
