Lava Delivers for Phl in Asian tikefest

CEBU, Philippines - Team Philippines, which included Cebuano jin Glenn Lava, came up with two golds, four silvers and two bronzes in the 3rd Asian Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Lava, together with Jean Pierre Sabido and Ernesto Guzman, won silver medal in the recognized poomsae male team event for over 30 years old class.

Lava produced another silver in the freestyle team competition along with Rani Ortega, Janice Lagman, Jayford Seridon and Jeordan Dominguez.

Phl's golds came from Marvin Gabriel, Dustin and Rico Mella in the recognized male team under-30 and from Jean Pierre Sabido in the individual freestyle.

The other two silvers were handed over by Marvin Gabrial and Juvenile Crisostomo in the freestyle pair and Jocel Ninobla in the female individual.

Ortega, Lagman and Crisostomo salvaged a bronze in the recognized female team under-30 class, while Jojo Ninobla took home the other bronze via the under-50 class. — (FREEMAN)
