CEBU, Philippines - Aside from running, a cycling event will also be staged in honor of Danao’s grand old man, the late Ramon ‘Mano Amon’ Durano Sr. dubbed as ‘Halad kang Mano Amon’ Cycling Classic on December 29 in Danao City.
The event will be a road race covering the main streets of Danao to Lugo and back to the city’s golf course.
The race is divided into two classes– 40-below and 40-above. There are 40 pedal-pushers who have enlisted under the 40-below action and another 25 riders for the 40-above.
All riders will be released together making it anybody's game.
Plaques will be given away to the top five performers, while organizers will provide packed lunch for all the participants after the race. They will also provide free transportation for the riders from Cebu City to Danao and vice-versa.
For those who are interested to join, the deadline for the registration is set today at the Mandaue reclamation area. Entry fee is pegged at P300.— (FREEMAN)
