CEBU, Philippines - The Accenture Sharks and the ePerformax Reds capped their elimination round campaigns on a high note in the 9th CSCC E-League for Basketball last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu. Accenture blew hot and cold before outlasting Teleperformance, 72-64, while ePerformax unleashed a devastating offensive in the final half to demolish the 1 & 1 Marauders, 99-72.
Accenture mellowed down after taking an early 22-14 lead, but regained its offensive bearing in the thrid period to post an 11-point advantage, 53-42, going into the final 10 minutes of play. Teleperformance never recovered from there onwards.
Archie Brian Vincent Batua topscored for Accenture with 25 points on top of 15 rebounds and two steals, while Jasper Loreto chippined in 20 points, seven assists, four rebounds and as many steals.
In the other game, man mountain Robert Gilo fired a season-high 27 points spiked with 11 rebounds and two assists, even as four others cashed in double figures for ePerformax. Raymond Dennis Tan had 18 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals, while Patrick Ybañez banged in 15 points, 12 rebounds and four assists.
After a 41-all deadlock at halftime, ePerformax staged a searing 28-17 run in the third period then closed the match with a 30-14 bang for the 27-point blowout.— EBV (FREEMAN)
