CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) described the staging of the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo 2024 on Sunday, August 25, as “peaceful and orderly”.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Janette Rafter, deputy city director for administration, said they have not recorded any crime since the start of the street dancing until the grand showdown at the Cebu City Sports Center was finished Monday dawn.
Rafter estimated 17,000 to 18,000 spectators inside the CCSC. There were also several others who watched the grand showdown via live stream in several viewing stations set up by the Cebu Provincial Government.
Rafter said they have deployed a considerable number of personnel to ensure the security of the participants and the spectators. Pasigarbo sa Sugbo 2024 culminated the month-long celebration of the 455th Founding Anniversary of the Province of Cebu. — (FREEMAN)
