CEBU, Philippines — An alleged robber whom Police Station 2 considered as the most wanted person in its area of responsibility was arrested during a buy-bust operation Sunday evening in Juana Osmeña Street, Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City.

Police identified the suspect as Danny Jay Ogario Liston, 29, a resident of Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City.

Liston admitted to reporters his involvement in theft and robbery cases to finance his other vices like drug use, gambling, alcohol, and womanizing. The suspect was caught in possession of 5 grams of shabu worth P34,000 during the buy-bust operation.

According to the police, Liston was linked to robbery incidents on July 11 and August 2, 2024, in Barangay Kamputhaw where he allegedly carted away a mountain bike worth P100,000, laptop, tablet, and other electronic gadgets.

Col. Antonietto Cañete, acting city director of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), commended the Abellana Police Station 2 for the arrest of Liston.

“I’m happy to hear that we were able to arrest him in the buy-bust operation and even recovered those items that had been stolen by him,” said Cañete.

Liston is now facing charges for violation of Section 5 and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. — (FREEMAN)
