CEBU, Philippines — After all attempts, clearing operations on the three-meter easement in Kawit, part of Barangay Ermita, Cebu City is finally taking shape.
PROBE’s officer-in-charge, retired fire marshal Aderson Comar, told The Freeman that it’s not an easy task but they are happy that they are able to negotiate and make owners of illegal structures cooperate now.
“Sayon ra na estoryahon pero kanang mag negotiate kag tag-iya nga ipaguba iyahang property mao nay lisod e manuever,” Comar stressed.
PROBE personnel have their hands full in clearing Barangay Ermita as the city government’s market division is looking at a safer passage to residents and customers of Carbon Market and the fish port with a sidewalk at hand.
Currently, PROBE’s personnel are focusing on the clearing of a double walling of a building that encroached the sidewalk.
“Kana siya diha, lapad ng karsada diha sauna, unya kaning building sa Insik, ni extend..Kanang extension, mao nay gibungkag namo..Mahug na nga ika duhang bongbong na ba,” said Comar.
Aside from the said building, Comar said all other obstructions going to El Filibusterismo Street will also have to be cleared.
“Kana diha, mahurot gyud na, padong sa El Filibusterismo Street, lahos gyud na,” added Comar.
Aside from Ermita, PROBE had just finished clearing the sidewalk and those illegal structures along B. Rodriguez. (CEBU NEWS)
