CEBU, Philippines — Residents of sitio Upper Cantisang, Barangay Paril, Cebu City will soon benefit from concrete road in their area following the groundbreaking of said project recently.
Paril barangay captain Nerissa Doncillo said it’s been two decades that residents in the said area have longed to have a concrete road following several road mishaps in the rocky road.
“Niabot na gyud ni siyag more or less, 20 years. Paghuman gyud og open ani niya, ing-ani na gyud ang iyang sitwasyon. Ang mga residente diri puro gyud sila reklamo kay tungod lagi anang matuwad sila magmotor, mulapok man ni diri ug mag-uwan, maglisod na silag saka, daghan man nig nagpuyo sa ibabaw,” Doncillo said.
The city government has allocated P2.5 million for this road project, according to the city’s Public Information Office.
Doncillo is thankful to Mayor Michael Rama that finally it’s a wish coming true.
More to it, Doncillo is thankful that the budget was released before the election ban.
Doncillo is aware that there may be some negative comments on this project, but said, this is long overdue.
The road concreting project in sitio Cantisang is expected to be done by October, but could be extended accordingly due to unpredictable weather conditions.
Aside from the road concreting in sitio Cantisang, another one will be done in Hilltop also part of Barangay Paril, Doncillo said.
