CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City government’s campaign against graffiti and vandalism will continue even after the June 12 deadline set by Mayor Michael Rama.
City Administrator Atty. Collin Rosell said the police were directed to continue going after those individuals involved in graffiti to keep the city’s cleanliness. So far, the police have arrested at least 20 individuals, including minors, for vandalism.
According to Rosell, they have given instruction to the police to file appropriate charges in court.
“Modakop gyud sa mo-violate, including kaning pag-vandal sa atong mga lugar…insulto usab kini sa awtoridad,” Rosell said.
He, however, admitted that going after these individuals is not easy since most of them are riding vehicles. The city administrator has appealed for everyone to cooperate in making the city clean and beautiful.
“Respect others nga gusto og limpyo, walay hugaw and law-ay na pag vandal-vandal sa syudad…hinaot unta nga motabang ta pag-ayo ug paghinlo,” Rosell said.
Earlier, Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) chief Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog asked those into arts and creative works to collaborate with them. Dalogdog said they have already intensified their watch against vandalism with the help of the barangay officials.
