CEBU, Philippines — The Erich Rafael (ERCO) Construction Samareno FC Football Tournament returns on May 13 to 14 at the Cebu City Sports Center with several out-of-town teams already signifying their interest to participate in the event.
This year’s staging will be the third edition since the event was fused with the BRO Nationals a decade ago.
Central Visayas Football Association president Engr. Rodney Orale, who is behind the said event, decided to revive it to sustain the momentum the local football community is gaining after a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The third edition will be an eight-aside tournament except for the under-7 and under-9 which will be a 7-aside action.
Both u-7 and u-9 will be a mixed category along with the under-11.
The all-female booters action include the under-17, ladies open, and ladies’ BPO.
The rest will be an all-male battle–boys’13, 17, and 19, men’s 38-above, 48-above, men’s professionals, BPO, and the men’s open.
The final coaches’ meeting is set for today (April 22) at Jollibee-Raintreee Mall on Maxilom Avenue at 5 p.m.
As of this writing, there are still slots available, said Engr. Orale.
