CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City government is giving farmers in the city free insurance for crops and livestock through the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation.
The city agriculture department wants the city farmers to avail of the program to protect themselves from possible losses due to calamities. Having their crops and livestock insured will guarantee farmers financial assistance during calamity.
The farmers are also encouraged to register under the Registry System for the basic sector of Agriculture. The city agriculture department already went to Barangays Adlaon, Babag, Pung-ol, and Taptap to invite farmers to avail of the free insurance.
Today, CAD personnel are scheduled to visit barangays Guba and Sirao while Tabunan and Tagbao on Friday.
Other schedules are as follows: Agsungot and Binaliw (January 27); Malubog and Roosevelt (January 30); Budlaan and Pulangbato (January 31); Bonbon and Buot (February 1); Sinsin and Sudlon (February 2); Mabini and Paril (February 3); Pamutan and Sapangdaku (February 6); Kalunasan (February 7); Sudlon 2 (February 8); Toong (February 9); Buhisan (February 10); Lusaran (February 13); and Cambinocot on February 14.
