CEBU, Philippines — The City Hospitalization and Medicine Program (CHAMP) of Cebu City clarified that they can only cater to medication for in-patients, but, assured to assist out-patients in need of medical assistance to other government agencies.
CHAMP made such clarification after noting many individuals come up to them on the weekly “City Hall At Your Doorstep” to ask for help in their maintenance medicines as reported by the city’s Public Information Office.
Palacio said their office does not have medicines at hand.
CHAMP is a medical assistance program of the Cebu City government to help the less fortunate Cebuanos with their hospital bills.
Palacio added those who approached them are looking for “branded” medicines while those being offered by the other departments like the City Health Department are generics.
Aside from the CHD, the Cebu City Medical Center is also offering several services to the barangay via the City Hall At Your Doorstep together with close to 30 other departments and government agencies.
Even non-Cebu City voters are being accommodated by CHAMP. They are assisted to proper offices for their concerns.
— GMR (FREEMAN)
