Gen. Maxilom accident kills 3

CEBU, Philippines —  Three people were killed during an accident involving at least three vehicles and a motorcycle along General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City yesterday dawn.

Based on police investigation, the Toyota Fortuner driven by Angelo Rey Gurrea, 21, of Talisay City, was heading to the uptown area when it attempted to overtake an Isuzu Crosswind Sportivo driven by a John Dale Estano Alivia, 39, of Barangay Pari-an, Cebu.

But while on the opposite lane, Gurrea rammed into a passenger multicab driven by Raul Largado, 46, a resident of Cordova.

The collision also knocked a passenger jeepney and a motorcycle driven by Eman Berniel Balion, 25, Talamban, Cebu City.

"Ni overtake si (Gurrea), unya na wrong lane, unya nag-counterflow, nagsugat sila sa multicab nga naay kargang lima (dala sa driver), na drag pa 23 metros. Namatay dayon ang sa likod nga pasahero, ang sa front seat nalabay, (dayon) ang driver gigamitan pa og gabas kay naipit siya unya giputol-putol pa ni para makuha,"matud pa ni traffic investigation Police Chief Master Sergeant Antonio Jay Pizarras Jr. sa pakighinabi sa Banat News.

Aside from the driver of the multicab, passenger Carlo Gahator, 22, was also dead on the spot while authorities are still recognizing another passenger who was also killed.
