CEBU, Philippines - A jealous minor allegedly shot his neighbor Friday evening in Barangay Pahina-San Nicolas after he caught his girlfriend frequently visiting the victim.
Jerry Relente, 25, resident of Sitio Lawis, Barangay Ermita, survived from the attack and is now recuperating in the hospital. The suspect, name withheld, was with another minor on board a motorcycle when he shot the victim past 11 p.m. along Espelita Street.
The minors were allegedly riding on a motorcycle when they stopped by and shot the victim, who was then walking along the road. The suspects escaped and remained at large as of press time.
Police Officer 3 Dexter Costillas, of Sawang Police Station, said they found the victim and brought him to the nearest hospital. Costillas said the two minors were identified by the victim.
Jefferson, victim's brother, told police investigators that jealousy could be the motive behind the attempt on his brother's life. He said one of the suspects was allegedly jealousy of the victim.
According to him, the suspect's girlfriend was close to his brother and often visits the latter in their house.
Homicide investigators are now conducting follow up operations to arrest the suspects. (FREEMAN)
