CEBU, Philippines - A group with 7,000 strong Evangelical Christian churches in the country manifested its support for the Duterte-Cayetano tandem in a meeting yesterday attended by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.
Bishop Oriel Balla-no, national coordinator of G12 and founder of Doulos for Christ World Harvest Ministry, believed that it is the obligation of the Christians to select the right leaders, not necessarily a perfect person but somebody who can deliver the goods that the country needs.
“As Christians, we have an obligation not just to vote but also to campaign for the right people,” Ballano said in an interview.
G12 or Government of 12, is a Christian movement that envisions national transformation.
“We believed that Christians in the Philippines bring transformation and change. Because transformation starts from God and we do that in national scope,” Ballano added.
Cayetano for his part said they presented their platform of government to the group.
“Pinakita namin ang aming plataporma at nagustuhan naman nila lalo na iyong peace and order and regional economic growth or federalism,” he said.
The tandem’s nationwide tour dubbed as “Hamon ng Pagbabago” is covering major cities, provinces, and different sectors in the country.
Last week, the two were in Cebu for the launching of their platform of government.
Yesterday’s meeting of G12 was held at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa in Cebu. — (FREEMAN)
