CEBU, Philippines - When he visits Russia on September 27, Governor HilarioDavide III yesterday said he will appeal to the Russian government to put a direct flight to Cebu.
“Mohangyo ‘ta didto. Maayo unta duna’y direct flight sa St. Petersburg to Cebu,” Davide said in an interview shortly after meeting Russian Federation Ambassador to the Philippines Honorable Igor Khovaev.
Davide said St. Petersburg is a sister province of Cebu and both, thus, share friendship and cooperation in the areas of education, sports, tourism, health, caregiving, connectivity and agriculture.
The governor said that onhis visit to Russia, he hopes to renew the sisterhood agreement started by former governor and now third district Representative Gwendolyn Garcia.
“Hopefully ang atong katuyoan, i-renew ang twinning agreement and agree on concrete programs of friendship and cooperation,” he said.
Apart from St. Petesburg, Davide will also visit Moscow.
Khovaev was accompanied by Armi Lopez Garcia, the Honorary Consul in Russia. The brief meeting took place inside Davide’s office at the Capitol. — (FREEMAN)
