CEBU, Philippines- After spending seven years in jail for possession and sale of illegal drugs a 25-year-old man may again see time behind bars after he was arrested for the same offense last night, this time with an estimated P2 million worth of drugs.
Arman Jaca, 25, was arrested by the City Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Force (CAIDSOTF) and San Nicolas Police Station personnel during a buy-bust operation in A. Lopez Street, Sitio Mahayahay, Barangay Calamba.
Before the buy-bust, the suspect was placed under surveillance for a week following reports he had gone back to selling drugs. Last night a poseur-buyer was able to buy a pack of shabu from the suspect worth P2,000 in his house.
Policemen then moved in to arrest the suspect who resisted violently, prompting CAIDSOTF chief Senior Inspector Eunil Avergonzado to call for the assistance of the Special Weapons and Tactics personnel.
They recovered three small packs of shabu worth P3,000 each and the buy-bust money from the suspect and seven big packs of suspected shabu in his house with an estimated value of P2 million.
Jaca was first arrested in 2006 for the same offense and was convicted of the crime, he was released in 2013 after serving his prison term.
His neighbors told the police that he is a threat to the neighborhood since he is seen sometimes firing his weapon indiscriminately.
The suspect denied that the confiscated items were taken from him, saying he just parked his motorcycle in the area to pawn his watch to buy milk for his child.
The police are now investigating where Jaca gets his supply but said it is most likely from the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.
The suspect was brought to Cebu City Police Office for investigation and is now detained at the stockade. He will be charged with selling and possession of illegal drugs in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. — /BRP (FREEMAN)
