CEBU, Philippines - The Police Regional Office-7 has started to launch a nationwide manhunt operation against the remaining suspects in the attack of three foreign nationals in Talisay City last month that killed a German disaster volunteer and injured a Frenchman and an Indian.
Supt. Rex Derilo, chief of the Regional Special Operations Group, confirmed that the four remaining suspects are already out of Central Visayas. Derilo said three of the suspects are reportedly sighted in Mindanao while one was in Luzon.
“We are sending elements already to coordinate with the other region police units,” Derilo said.
The police refused to reveal the names of the remaining suspects so as not to jeopardize the ongoing manhunt operation. One of the four suspects now being hunted by authorities is Dexci Gomilao.
Gomilao was among those already charged in court for the death of German national Heinrich Haffner. Frenchman Julian Millard and Indian national Cheten Saparaiya were also injured in the attack.
Charged together with Gomilao were the three other suspects arrested during hot pursuit operations - Ricci Edwin Ramirez, Allan Velos and Roger Cal.
All four are facing murder and frustrated murder charges. Ramirez was also charged with illegal possession of firearm and possession of illegal drugs while Cal was also charged with illegal possession of gun. — (FREEMAN)
