Man shot dead in San Francisco

CEBU, Philippines - A 50-year-old man was found dead Sunday morning with gunshot wounds in the body at Barangay Consuelo, San Francisco town.

Edgar Bona, of Barangay Campo, San Francisco in Camotes Island, was discovered by his aunt, Lily Calolot, at 7 a.m. on Sunday. He was found in a pool of blood inside a kiosk.

The victim visited his aunt Saturday evening and decided to sleep in the kiosk outside of his aunt’s house. Calolot said she heard gunshots at 9 p.m. on Saturday but did not mind about them.

Calolot was surprised to discover the following morning that her nephew was already dead. She immediately asked assistance from her neighbor who reported the incident to the police.

The police discovered that the victim sustained gunshot wounds to his jaw, right chest, stomach and his left leg. Four empty shells of undetermined caliber of firearm were recovered at the crime scene.

The police also found a .38 caliber revolver tucked in the victim’s waist. — (FREEMAN)
