CEBU, Philippines - Citing the “emanating disturbing noise,” nearby residents of Dynasty Bar along Juana Osmeña St., Cebu City has appealed to the City Hall to revoke the business permit issued for the operation of the entertainment bar.
Residents headed by lawyer Myrfi Gonzalez said they have submitted a letter of complaint to the city government on the bar’s alleged violation of the Anti-Noise Pollution Ordinance or City Ordinance No. 309.
“Considering the agony we had to go through to stop Dynasty Resto Bar from violating our law with impunity, it is highly frustrating that this is happening,” she noted in the letter.
Gonzalez further pleaded to the city government not to issue business permits to establishments that disturb peace of the residents.
Dynasty Bar was temporarily closed last January 10 after it was not able to secure a business permit and failing to pay business taxes and fees.
As of press time, the resto bar continues to operate after its management has finally complied with the requirements set by the city, said city administrator Lucelle Mercado.
“Open na siya kay nisunod na man sila. Ila na gi-close karon ang bar kay sa una open man maong makagawas ang saba ug wala na sad gipabutang ang speakers sa gawas,” explained Mercado.
The city will nevertheless conduct random inspection at the bar to check if it still follows the provisions of the anti-noise pollution ordinance, added Mercado. —NSA (FREEMAN)
