Thief hits cop’s house

CEBU, Philippines -  A policeman lost around P28,000 cash and more than P50,000 worth of belongings to a burglar who sneaked into his house in Barangay Cogon, Bogo City last Friday.

Police Officer 1 Abel Nasataya, 35, who is assigned at Bogo City Police Station, was reportedly on a day off and was having a holiday getaway with his family in Cebu City when the burglary took place.

As per investigation, the robber was able to enter Nasataya’s house at St. Joseph Village by destroying a window grill and removing four jalousie blades.

PO3 Elymar Mendoza, investigator on case, said they are now eyeing a suspect but cannot divulge the identity yet pending investigation.

He said they received testimonies that there was only one person who was seen heading towards a grassy area at the back of Nasataya’s house following the burglary.

The burglar reportedly took away Nasataya’s P28,000 cash which was sent by the policeman’s mother from abroad.

Aside from the cash, the thief also carted away a portable play station worth P6,000, two digital cameras worth P9,000, a lapel worth P2,000, three cellular phones worth P15,000, a wristwatch worth P15,000, and a Swiss knife worth P8,000.  (FREEMAN)
