Bamboo holds concertfor Yolanda survivors

CEBU, Philippines - Filipino rock icon Bamboo has amused the Cebuanos during a benefit concert last night at the LIV Super Club in Mandaue City to commemorate the first anniversary of super typhoon Yolanda.

A lot of Cebuano concert goers were entertained as The Voice of the Philippines coach shared his musical talent along with guests DJ Niña Saputil and actor Carlos Agassi.

A similar show was also done by Bamboo in Florida, US, Canada, Tokyo, Ireland, Australia, and Dubai.

The concert was just perfect for the season as a lot of people get to enjoy this kind of entertainment.

“How fitting; it’s one year after. You know when it’s a concert I always say it’s a celebration but in the back of your mind iniisip mo rin kung anong nangyari a year ago,” Bamboo said.

Bamboo recalled how he also helped the survivors after the typhoon hit.

“I remember, what I did last year was I played Santa for the kids, then we were able to donate toys for them. You know kids are kids,” he said.

According to him, there were few changes of ideas about what he did during his past concert tour because last night was a night of music that ranges from rock to pop and a little bit of folk.

The proceeds of the concert will be donated to the survivors of typhoon Yolanda, particularly for the construction of new health centers that will cater their needs.  (FREEMAN)
