CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City government has turned over 14 patrol cars to the Cebu City Police Office yesterday.
The 14 Toyota Vios cars, which all amounted to P10 million, will be distributed to the 11 police stations and special units under CCPO.
With the new vehicles received, CCPO director Noli Romana promised to improve their police monitoring.
“We assured the public that first and foremost, we will increase our presence,” he said, adding that they will do their best to lessen the crime volume in the city.
Police Regional Office-7 director Prudencio Bañas said the additional patrol cars will help the police in maintaining the peace and order in the city, as he and Romana thanked the city government for the vehicles.
“Malaking tulong ang mga ito sa ating mga kapulisan especially that we are an urbanized city, dumadami na ang population, dumadami ang people na sini-serve ng ating kapulisan sa Cebu City,” said Bañas.
The PRO-7 director Bañas advised the station commanders to take care of the vehicles provided to them.
“Iyong pangangailangan niyo, binigay ng local government. You must also rise up yourself worthy to stay as station commanders. Otherwise, we will look for others who are very much willing who are more motivated and excited to replace you,” he said.
Councilor Dave Tumulak of the peace and order program of the Office of the Mayor said 30 additional patrol cars and nine motorcycles will soon be given to CCPO. — (FREEMAN)
