CEBU, Philippines - At least five people were arrested for possession of illegal drugs and firearms in Liloan town yesterday morning.
Marvin Siano Abao, 40; Marvin Siano Casas, 40; Van Alino Pilostratos, 38; Israel Miel Alvares, 32; and Genyl Pepito Orapa, 36, were arrested by elements of Liloan Police Station in Purok Molave, Barangay Tayud.
The police seized from Abao a big pack, 15 medium-size packs and 14 small packs of suspected shabu, a digital weighing scale, three cellular phones, a forcep, a scissor, three improvised glass totters, two disposable lighters and P4,000 cash believed to be proceeds from his illegal activity.
Seized from Casas were a caliber 45 pistol, a magazine, seven pieces of live ammunition and a unit of Cherry mobile Tablet.
Both Pilostratos and Alvares yielded a medium pack of suspected shabu.
Confiscated from Orapa were a medium pack of suspected shabu, a wallet and P1,600 cash believed to be proceeds from his illegal activity.
PO3 Jason Gayo, desk officer of Liloan Police Station, said when the team members went to the area, they saw the suspects gathering together, prompting the police to arrest them all.
The team was composed of acting Liloan police chief Insp. Ramil Judilla Morpos, SPO3 Marlon Yrog-irog, SPO1 Nelson Mayuela, PO3 Cedric Castillo and PO1 Bobby Capangpangan.
The arrest was made during the implementation of a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Teresita Abarquez-Galanida of Regional Trial Court Branch 56 in Mandaue City.
The confiscated packs of suspected shabu were submitted to PNP Crime Laboratory for examination.
All the suspects are now detained at the police station awaiting the filing of charges against them in court. (BANAT NEWS)
