Four rob LBC outlet

CEBU, Philippines - Four people including a woman robbed a courier company along Escario Street, Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City at past 1 p.m. yesterday.

LBC Express-Escario Branch lost some P10,000 cash to the robbers who rode in two motorcycles.

One of the motorcycles was a Honda Blue motorcycle driven by a man wearing a white shirt. Riding in tandem with him was a woman described to be around 5’6 tall, had a long hair, and was wearing a red shirt.

The driver of the second motorcycle was wearing a black shirt and maong short pants.

Leah Marikit, 25, and Cony Concepcion, 31, both customer associates of the company, said they were shocked when they were told by one of the suspects to hand over their earnings. Three other cohorts served as lookouts.

Marikit said one of the suspects asked her where they put the money while another suspect went to Concepcion’s drawer and took the money.

“Dali ra kaayo, sibat dayon sila pagkuha sa kwarta,” Concepcion told reporters.

The heist lasted only for two minutes.

Superintendent Romeo Santander, chief of the City Intelligence Branch, said one of the robbers has already been identified.

Without divulging the identity of the robber, Santander said bystanders around the area identified the suspect, now the subject of their manhunt.

A closed-circuit television camera was installed in the establishment but was turned off at the time of the robbery.

Senior Inspector David Señor, Theft and Robbery Section chief, said the employees reportedly received a message instructing them to switch off the computer for a system’s upgrade.

The CCTV was connected to the computer, rendering it unusable while the computer was turned off.

LBC-Escario Branch does not have a security guard similar to Taboan Branch, which was also robbed few months ago.  (FREEMAN)
