CEBU, Philippines - After June 30, there may be some casual employees of the Capitol who may not have to report for work.
This after Governor Hilario Davide III ordered that all of the Capitol’s casual employees be evaluated for their performance, if they are “competent†enough to merit another six months contract.
“One of the changes we’ve introduced here sa Capitol. I-match ilang position they are holding, competent ba byud sila… knowledgeable,†said Davide.
“We want a workforce here nga kana g’yung manarbaho, so they can contribute to the administration,†he added.
Davide said that more than 600 casual workers may be lessened, depending on the results of the ongoing evaluation. He said this could be possible considering that there are positions that are being held by two persons, or workers who have no actual work.
“Mag-agad ta sa recommendation sa evaluators. Duna may position nga nag-doble-doble. Naa puy mga empleyado nga way gibuhat (which could be among the grounds for not renewing their contracts),†he said. (FREEMAN)
