CEBU, Philippines - Four persons were arrested with several packets of shabu in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group Tuesday evening in Barangay Suba, Danao City.
Arrested were John Michael Manzo, Kristian Manzo, Malvin Manulat, and Jason Prieto.
The subject of the operations identified as Popoy Basan has eluded the arrest.
Confiscated from the suspects were drug paraphernalia and 15 small packets of shabu worth P3,000.
Illegal drug were taken to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory-7 for chemical analysis.
Team leader Senior Inspector Leo Logroño said that right after they received a packet of shabu from Basan in exchange of P200 marked money, the poseur-buyer signaled the arrest. But Basan noticed the police, prompting him to escape.
“Gilabay niya ang container nga dunay shabu unya nakadagan siya,†he said.
Senior Police Officer 1 Francis Allen Villamor, of the PIB, said Manzo was the right hand of Basan while Manulat, Prieto and Manzo were arrested after they caught having a drug session inside the house of Manzo.
“Drug den man sad nang balay sa mga customer,†Villamor said.
The suspects can reportedly disposed 50 grams of shabu in a week and were tagged as level two drug pushers.
Basan is also on the target list of the PIB.
Charges for RA 9165 or Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects who are now detained at the Consolacion police stockade.— (FREEMAN)
