CEBU, Philippines - A security guard shot his co-worker inside a karaoke bar in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City, Thursday around 2:50 a.m.
The suspect was identified as Jason Yurko while the victim was identified as Leonil Pulido, 27, resident of Cambaro, Mandaue City. Both are working for the said karaoke bar.
Based on the police report, the victim’s co-workers Rudy Ric Taranza and John Michael Miranda, both waiters, said they were attending to their respective duties when they suddenly heard a gunshot.
They immediately rushed to the washing area of the karaoke bar and saw the victim slowly slumped on the floor and the alleged assailant placing his firearm near the victim’s body. After the incident, the alleged assailant immediately escaped.
The two witnesses added they often saw the suspect played with his gun by pointing it at the victim and dry-firing it. They said they have cautioned the alleged assailant about it already to no avail.
Policemen responding to the incident were able to recover a .38 caliber revolver with four live rounds and one empty shell inside the cylinder and a red Myphone cellular phone with charger.
The victim was immediately rushed to Cebu Doctors Hospital and is in critical condition while police, are still conducting search operations for the said suspect. — Joeylen A. de la Cruz, NORSU MassComm Intern/BRP (FREEMAN)
