NBI on the lookout for Cedric Lee here

CEBU, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation- 7 is looking into reports that controversial businessman Cedric Lee might be in Cebu.

Lee is facing arrest for serious illegal detention and grave coercion for allegedly mauling actor Vhong Navarro on January 22, 2014 in Taguig City.

NBI-7 Director Max Salvador said it is not unlikely for Lee to seek refuge here because of his business connections.

He said that because Lee’s arrest is now nationwide operation, they have beenfurnisheda copy of the warrant of arrest issued by Judge Paz Esperanza M. Cortes of the Regional Trial CourtBranch 271 in Taguig.

Last Monday night, NBI agents in Manila went to Lee’s residence in West Greenhills, San Juan to implement the warrant but Lee was not there.

The court has recommended a P12,000 bail for the grave coercion charge but the illegal detention charge is non-bailable.

Lee earlier said they beat Navarro because the actor allegedly tried to rape Deniece Cornejo on January 22, 2014 inside Cornejo’s rented condominium in Taguig City.
