CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III has assured that all medical personnel hired by the province to work for its various district hospitals will soon get their back wages.
“We are still in the process…naa pay transition from outsourced to job order. Daghan pang papeles (to be prepared). I can assure them nga once mahikay na ang papeles, na mabayran na sa ilang back wages,†said Davide in an interview with the media.
Doctors, dentists, nurses and other medical personnel who were hired by manpower agencies to work for provincial government-run hospitals have reportedly not been paid their wages for the last four months.
But the governor assured them that once all the papers are signed, the Capitol will immediately release their back wages.
Meanwhile, Davide said he has already signed the contracts of medical workers—doctors, nurses, dentists and others—for their direct employment, especially that most of them were outsourced from manpower agencies. — (FREEMAN)
