Another immigration office to open in Mandaue City

CEBU, Philippines - The Bureau of Immigration-Cebu is set to open its second satellite office within this month at J Center Mall in Mandaue City.

BI-7 alien control officer Casimiro Madarang III said this is aimed to make their office more accessible to their clients.

BI-7 opened its first satellite office last year at Gaisano Country Mall in Lapu-Lapu City in line with former BI Commissioner Ricardo David Jr.’s programs for the Bureau to be accessible by the public.

Madarang said that their frontline services will also be offered to the public at their new satellite office.

Madarang said that the opening of their new satellite office is also part of their efforts to maintain an effective delivery of public service.

The new satellite office will give foreigners an alternative and convenient venue for processing their application for visa extensions and other immigration requirements.

As for those who will have transactions with BI-7 office or any of its satellite offices, all applicants are required to dress properly.

“Our dress code was amended. Karon pwede na mag-shorts basta di lang pakigol nga shorts,” Madarang emphasized.

Transactions will be from Mondays to Fridays, 7:00a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, more than 200 applicants in Cebu will take an examination today in a bid to fill up the vacant positions for 200 immigration officials nationwide.

Madarang said that the examinations will be done nationwide and for the Visayas examination, it will be held at the University of Cebu in Cebu City. — (FREEMAN)
