CEBU, Philippines - Four houses were burned down and another five were damaged in two separate fire incidents in the past two days.
A fire razed the house of Alberto and Gemma Podulin in Brgy. Maghanoy, Barili, Cebu last Sunday at around 2:45 a.m.
Based on the investigation of the Barili Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire started at the dirty kitchen of the house.
Elements of the BFP said though that they are still conducting further investigation on the incident.
Apart from the Podulin’s residence, an adjacent house, owned by a certain Ricardo Zapanta, was also damaged.
The fire was controlled at around 3:05 a.m. with cost of damage estimated at P270,000.
Meanwhile, a fire burned down three houses yesterday and partially damaged another four in Barangay Tejero, Cebu City.
According to fire investigator FO3 Emeliano Daño Jr., they got the fire alarm past 10 in the morning and was able to control the fire five minutes after responding to the incident.
Based on investigation, the fire started at the residence of a certain Shirley Matbagon.
However, investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire which cost of damage was estimated to reach P80,000. (FREEMAN)
